The hug pillow is made from suede shirting fabric which feels so soft to touch and was designed to be a hug in a pillow.
Natural dyed fabric using avocados and turmeric give Hooga Homes scatters a earthy feel and look. The dying is done in house and cotton calico fabrics are used for the scatters.
Our covers are slip covers which allow for the repurposing of old scatter inners and also give a unique relaxed vibe.

The 100% cotton calico is treated to a hot vinegar bath and then placed in a Avo dye bath for 24 hours. The Avo colour is extracted from the pips and skins which takes up to 48hrs.

R 200.00Turmeric slipcover: hand-dyed 100% calico fabric which is treated with a vinegar bath; then submerged and heated for 24hrs in a turmeric and water bath. After this time it is washed on a hot cotton cycle and tumble-dried.
Then fabric is sewn and washed again before entering the shop.
This is a lengthly process but ensures lasting colour and a authentic product.
The yellows vary from vibrant bright yellow to a baby yellow and each cover is different! When you purchase you will be contacted and sent the photos of the available covers to choose from to support your preference.
